Our Story
In the heart of Texas, where the San Antonio River winds its way through the land of Goliad, the “Birthplace of Texas Ranching", two families came together and shared a common dream. With two totally different backgrounds, the Murphys and the Gonzalezes discovered a mutual passion for the outdoors and raising cattle. Together, they aspired to be good stewards of their land and produce beef that was not only honest but deeply rooted in traditional ranching values.
From their picturesque ranch in Goliad, TX, they set out to produce beef that could be served with pride to their families and close friends. For the MG Family, it was more than just about beef; it was about bringing some integrity, health, and connection back into the very way they raised their cattle and fed their loved ones.

In 2018, their dream was finally realized with the establishment of MG Cattle Co. The Murphys, a first-generation ranching family, brought with them a fresh perspective and an unyielding spirit. The Gonzalezes, a 7th generation Texas family with a rich lineage of Goliad ranchers, brought years of experience and a deep connection to the land and its history.
The spirit of rebellion has always been deeply woven into the fabric of Goliad, a town steeped in the history and echoes of the Texas Revolution. It was here that brave Texan pioneers made a stand, fighting for their independence and rights.
